In my review it would have been clearer to say it is the first mystery in the series both set outside Three Pines and without the any residents of Three Pines.<br />Bill Selneshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17268006369157307593noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1644690488802388716.post-35189414843151616452012-10-18T05:18:57.730-06:002012-10-18T05:18:57.730-06:00Bill - This is such an excellent series that I'...Bill - This is such an excellent series that I'm sorry to hear that this one had some issues with it for you. I'll be very interested to see what your concerns about this book were. I'm actually intrigued by the setting and the information on the monks' lifestyles. And I'm especially interested in the music. I have read a scathing review of this book on another blog and I have a feeling that your problems with it are similar to his. Penny's recent tendency to become a lecturing New Age-ish/touchy-feely kind of writer is something I also am becoming a little weary of. It started to rear its unattractive side in THE BRUTAL TELLING and is getting more and more intrusive in the books that followed.J F Norrishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06473487417479127354noreply@blogger.com
