How laymen are able to manipulate or monopolize isn't favourable to their credit. You took over this site suggesting your opinions about Cook yourself and carried on like Cook meant nothing. I find people in the Judiciary have hidden key evidence supporting he was innocent and I know what that can be like as our society is wicked and cruel. Do you have the letter you said was written under your conclusion?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1644690488802388716.post-3276773565131033852023-12-31T21:42:51.139-06:002023-12-31T21:42:51.139-06:00Diefenbaker was Prime Minister. With regard to capital punishment I think we have had enough cases of wrongful conviction for murder to convince a significant majority of the Canadian population not to support the death penalty for that reason alone.Bill Selneshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17268006369157307593noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1644690488802388716.post-20830186979010985672018-01-03T19:47:28.362-06:002018-01-03T19:47:28.362-06:00Margot: Thanks for the comment. Recognizing his inclination in favour of Cook he worked hard to be objective in setting out evidence.Bill Selneshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17268006369157307593noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1644690488802388716.post-57064777161860849362018-01-03T18:19:36.423-06:002018-01-03T18:19:36.423-06:00This series of posts has been really interesting, ...This series of posts has been really interesting, thanks for sharing your insights Bill. I'm glad we stopped using the death penalty in Australia when we did (1973) because I'm not sure it would happen today...many people are in favour of it and our politicians are far more driven by instant opinion polls than was the case in the 70's.Bernadettehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07641617609801125707noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1644690488802388716.post-89795150646232704192018-01-03T06:22:08.801-06:002018-01-03T06:22:08.801-06:00Thanks, Bill, for your thoughtful discussion of th...Thanks, Bill, for your thoughtful discussion of this case. It's a complicated matter, and it sounds as though there was plenty of room for dispute with respect to the way the case was handled. I'm glad Pecover did the work necessary for a fair treatment of it all.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
