You've convinced me that I need to read it, myself. And I like the way you describe Uncle's personality. He has a quite sort of menace that's much more effective than bluster and bravado would be, and it's good that that comes through here. It sounds as though Hamilton also gives the reader a sense of the history and events going on, too, which is even better.
