The T.V. shows are close enough to retain the flavour of the books yet original enough to be different. It is not often I like both books and adaptations.

I never saw the Vic of the books as dressed in the manner of the T.V Vic.Bill Selneshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17268006369157307593noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1644690488802388716.post-19001260994741970412016-11-11T14:20:40.695-06:002016-11-11T14:20:40.695-06:00Interesting thoughts on this series Bill. Thankfully it is available on our Netflix.

I came to the series never having read any of the books - I kept meaning to but for some reason never did and then a friend had the first 2 seasons of the show on DVD (they never aired here on TV) and I decided just to dive in. I love Robert Taylor - he is an Australian actor and he always seemed to be playing a policeman in some TV show or other during the 90's - and was excited to see him in a lead role. I've really enjoyed the series as it has taken some risks and not always gone down the traditional storytelling lines. I agree about Vic's uniform though - utterly preposterous Bernadettehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07641617609801125707noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1644690488802388716.post-23943435485948971242016-11-11T13:29:20.368-06:002016-11-11T13:29:20.368-06:00Marina: Thanks for the comment. I hope they change their minds and make it available everywhere there is Netflix.Bill Selneshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17268006369157307593noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1644690488802388716.post-80801604259643455802016-11-11T13:26:51.800-06:002016-11-11T13:26:51.800-06:00Margot: It seems so short sighted to me to remove ...Margot: It seems so short sighted to me to remove a popular show that is both well liked and draws people to Netflix. A few more seasons and it could be a classic long into the future.Bill Selneshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17268006369157307593noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1644690488802388716.post-3608087370989124072016-11-11T06:23:52.718-06:002016-11-11T06:23:52.718-06:00I really want to watch this, but it's not avai...I really want to watch this, but it's not available on our local Netflix. And Longmire does that. I'm sorry to hear that Netflix isn't going to continue it beyond Season 6. Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
