It was cheaper to buy a bag and fill it instead of paying the mailing costs. The load included several baseball books. The two novels were Bottom of the Ninth by Tanya A. Rich whose investigator is hired by the Montreal Expos and Return to Yankee Stadium by Kenn Neyland where an aging Roger Maris attempts a comeback. If I ever read them, I'll let you know more. I was saddened to learn of Alison Gordon's passing. I agree that Prairie Hardball was her best book. Opening Day is less than 2 weeks away. I have been playing baseball for over 50 years. I think you could enjoy Split to Splinters without a strong knowledge of baseball. But this book sounds interesting anyway - good characters and relationships, which I like in a book.
